How facials can help calm your nervous system

Any kind of nurturing or soft touch on our face would have likely been when we were babies or children. The face is such an intimate area of our whole bodies, we do not realise how powerful a gentle touch can be. It holds our precious brain which has a multitude of tasks to perform every second of every day. It contains so many muscles, fascia, bones and joints that work tirelessly to perform movements throughout the day. And other structures such as the eyes, teeth, facial hair, mouth that are all essential for our function plus nerves that facilitates all these movements and functions.

Many of these structures do not get any rest during the day, and we constantly put pressure on them to perform. During a facial, we give permission for every one of these structures to rest, to take a break and enable complete calm. Often after I have given a client a facial, they are over the moon with the experience. They manage to mentally drift away while enabling their muscles, nervous system and mind to completely calm. This really helps individuals experiencing extreme stress.

If you are going through a stressful period or have been through a traumatic experience and your nervous system is just not settling down, please consider a gentle and nurturing facial. At Body Reform, the therapist is highly experienced, skilled and provides "divine" facials. One client who has had facials for 19 years, found the facial at Body Reform was the best she ever had. You can book a one hour signature facial here or a 30 minute mini facial here. We look forward to welcoming you with a facial to calm your mind, body and precious nervous system.
