Temporomandibular (TMJ) treatment

Service Description

This is a treatment everyone should have, especially if you suffer headaches, clench your jaw, have a click or experience pain in your jaw. We overuse our mouth and jaw muscles every time we eat, speak, smile, essentially all the time. This can cause issues if your bite is not straight or if you tense often without realising causing pain and headaches. The treatment works on the TMJ area, under and inside the jaw (with a glove), the muscles on the scalp that are involved with jaw movements, areas of tension in the scalp and neck. This is not a gentle treatment, if you have problems in your jaw it may initially cause pain but provides relief in the long run and the pressure will not be more than you can handle. 2-3 treatments may be necessary (once a week) to provide full relief and as part of the treatment, you will also be taught the basics on how to treat your jaw at home for long-term jaw health. This treatment is available as a discounted 'add-on' to any massage or facial. Go to the 'add-on' tab and choose the $60 option. Please note public holidays incur a 10% surcharge.
